Buffista Movies 4: Straight to Video

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Hmmm, full Monty philandering cartoon Michael Vartan...

Apart from sports, "my secret favorite thing on earth is ketchup. I will put ketchup on anything. But it has to be Heinz." - my husband, Michael Vartan

I thought he did a good job in What Dreams May Come.

But I love that movie, perhaps more than it deserves.

Know what I love about movies?

When someone is talking about a somewhat obscure movie that came out years and years ago, and you realize that you've seen the movie and can remember and speak somewhat intelligently about it, and the other person is all impressed and thinks you're really up on movies when the truth is that you are very lame and never get out and that was just the last random movie that you actually got your butt out to the cinema to see.

Not that this has happened to me.

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

I really liked Ice Age. Plus, Goran Visjnic as a bad-ass tiger.

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

Hot Doctor Luka shows up in the weirdest places.

Rrrrowr.

(Not to put too fine a point on it.)

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

I did resist going to see Elektra, or howeverthehell you spell it, because I heard it was pretty craptacular.

Did anyone see this psychological thriller Visnjic starred in called "Close Your Eyes"? IMDb lists the title as Doctor Sleep, and it has that dude from "In America", plus Miranda Otto! I'm thinking of Netflixing it, just to gawk at the pretty.
