Buffista Movies 4: Straight to Video

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

I'm still in a Liam Neeson/Christian Bale place. Because Liam Neeson/Peter Sarsgaard in Kinsey = HOTTTTT.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

is Bullseye not a "known" enough character for it to matter?

Not Bullseye -- Kingpin. And probably not, although I did hear people bitch about the PCness (of casting a black guy as a criminal -- so right).

Matt, do you need it to be campy? Can't it just be fraught?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Not Bullseye -- Kingpin.

Oh yeah, der.

Bat Sheet. In other words, Oh Dear God YES.

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

With Christian Bale in the mix, any homoeroticism will more likely be filled with angst than camp. Which is just fine with me.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I think if I don't get to see this cast perform this show, I might wind up considering my life completely wasted.

I Googled Spamalot reviews, and they seem pretty unanimously and enthusiastically positive. I think I feel the same way Sean does on this, but I may have a good ticket source (not that they'd be cheap).

You can't leave me to my own devices; my devices are Nap and Eat. -Zenkitty

I will settle for a DVD of the stage production with this cast, but otherwise I think I'll spend the rest of my life in a Sir Bedevere costume, staring wistfully out a window in the direction of Broadway, like some twisted, Pythonesque Mrs. Havisham.

(With all love and respect to our own Mrs. H, of course)

God is played by John Cleese, or at least voiced by him.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Of course, a non-white WW still wouldn't lead to Gina Torres getting the part.

Nope. If they went that way, it would probably be Oscar Winning Actress® Halle Berry, because she's the only one who could bring the proper empowerment to the part. t /sarcasm
