As someone who might have been paying attention to this stuff, it's insane how hard he took off with so little source material.
Agreed.
Wasn't he cast on the basis of his sudden popularity?
'Potential'
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

There's a Michael Powell restrospective in Walter Reade Theater in NYC during the month of May. Would someone(s) go see some of the films so that I can vicariously live through them? Pretty please?
Am I, like, the only person who didn't know that Jonathon Rhys-Meyers is playing Elvis in a CBS miniseries?
Yes, Gandalfe, the only one.

Well, you did know about Boreanaz in Crow IV, so you're not that out of the loop.
Crow IV?!?! Apparently, I was out of the loop on the existance of III. Which considering II, is probably a good thing. (Though I was aware of the whole DB in a Crow sequel thing.)
Hey, not only is there a sneak peak at the next HP movie during the televised showing of PoA Saturday night -- they are going to show the trailer for The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe during the movie.
I think it's IV. It's some number larger than III, anyway. III had Kirsten Dunst and Eric Mabius.
Huh. I vaguely remember hearing something about that. Was it any better than II? I can't really imagine it being worse. (Coincidentally, I caught the original on cable Sunday. Hadn't seen it in at least 5 years. Still enjoyed it, but wasn't as blown away by it as I had been originally.)

Is ABC going to be showing Prisoner of Azkaban already? That's pretty fast to network TV.
