Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

There's no Clive. I guess he's too cool to track?

Thrive to spite them

Elijah's was my favorite:

Hi, I'm Elijah Wood. Go ahead. Call me Frodo now. No, seriously, I want you to. Come on. I just had my nails done."

You can't leave me to my own devices; my devices are Nap and Eat. -Zenkitty

"Hi, I'm Nicky Katt. Yeah, the guy who gets shot with the arrow. Yeah, the funniest thing in the movie. Once again, I stroll in and casually steal a film. And once again, no one recognizes me, so that the one thing everyone still remembers me from is Boston freaking Public."

I love Nicky Katt. He was totally the best part of the movie.

I actually remember him most from The Limey.

And then from Boston freaking Public.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I know Nicky Katt from Dazed and Confused and from meeting him as a friend of a friend at the Farmer's Market. The Bf spotted him and said--"Hey, that's Nicky Katt. He's a friend of Randy." BF called Randy and said "Guess who I'm sitting near?" Randy then called Nicky and told him to go meet the guy waving at him from two tables away. It was really funny and LAish. He was very nice--he and the BF talked motorcycles and cars for quite a while.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Ok, scary(ish) movie title needed. I think it's something like Gate oto Hell or something with Gate. Anyway, basically, a hellmouth opens up in thsi backyard and these teeny little evil demon guys, that you're totally supposed to be afraid but aren't cause-so cute, come running out and terrorize kids.

The Gate ! I love that movie. I mean, the little kid at the end kills the dinosaur thing with a toy rocket of love.

Apart from sports, "my secret favorite thing on earth is ketchup. I will put ketchup on anything. But it has to be Heinz." - my husband, Michael Vartan

Robin always has the best LA stories.

I currently have Closer and A Chorus Line and Finding Neverland from Netflix. Since I have already watched the pretty Johnny and Kate movie, I think I'll watch A Chorus Line next. I'm noticing a theatrical theme in all the movies I have, though. Interesting.

Do people have any dancing movie recommendations? Netflix does not make it easy to find dancing movies.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Have you seen "Simply Ballroom," Alibelle?

Vonnie K - Apr 14, 2005 3:53:32 am PDT #1865 of 10002
Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

"Strictly Ballroom", I think Anne meant, and I second that.

"Red Shoes". Have inspired little girls to become ballerinas for over half a century, despite the unhappiness heaped on the protagonist. Gorgeous stuff, and the long stretch of Red Shoes ballet in the middle section is extraordinary.

"American in Paris" is not a 'dance movie' per se, but has possibly the most beautiful long dance sequence(s) ever filmed.

"Shall We Dance", the Japanese version and not the J.Lo remakes.

"The Turning Point", again about ballet. Good melodrama. Plus, catfight!

"White Nights" is a so-so movie, but it has young Mikhail Baryshnikov being all limber and beautiful.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Among classic musicals, anything with Vera-Ellen is guaranteed to have an extra ballet sequence.
