Nothin'. I just wanted you to face me so she could get behind ya.

Buffy and Angel 1: BUFFYNANGLE4EVA!!!!!1!

Is it better the second time around? Or the third? Or tenth? This is the place to come when you have a burning desire to talk about an old episode that was just re-run.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

He watched "Primeval" last night, and he is just SO CONFUSED about how that wasn't the finale.

Aw, I remember feeling exactly the same when it aired. And then Restless was all mind-blowing and awesome. Good times.

"...and then Legolas and the Hulk destroy the entire Greek army." - Penny Arcade

He's at the point with Buffy where he just can't believe how good it is and he just wants to tell everyone to watch it because how could you not have seen this amazingness.

Clearly us old, cynical fans need to follow the Doctor's example, and acquire young, unspoiled companions to remind just how amazing the whole thing is.

Always Anti-fascist!

Can there be mocking? But then, again, he's probably allergic. But, dude, it's just *television*.(says the woman in a fandom that's had the "clean shoot" argument for like, fifteen years...ok, I'm busted. But, really, there are events in my family that don't wring that much out of me, I'm serious. Maybe it's like James Brown having to be helped offstage to show how much he left it all on the road, are there robes and everything?) I don't know if Mark should watch Justified RIGHT NOW, or never, ever, since that is the thing on TV that makes me say "Holy shit," because so much is so unexpected and there isn't ominous music or "narration preparing us for what's happening"(Well, okay, sometimes you get Boyd Crowder)

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

What is this Snarkfest? Are they really really mean? Are they jaded and cruel Big Old Internet Queens? Tell me, tell me.

(My god, I can't believe he still hasn't learnt how to watch TV yet. Like, it's your job, and you still haven't worked out how it works...)

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Like, it's your job, and you still haven't worked out how it works.

On the one hand, I completely agree. On the other hand, I'm not the one who figured out how to make watching TV my job so maybe I'm the one doing it wrong.

There is that. But there are people like, say, Mo Ryan, who watch TV like they've been told a story before, and still make money doing it.

brillig

Mark's naivete is starting to wear a little thin. Even since he's begun his blog he should have started to pick up some of the basic storytelling techniques.

Because books.

I'm still a little surprised that his whole naif pose hasn't eroded at all.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Clearly us old, cynical fans need to follow the Doctor's example, and acquire young, unspoiled companions to remind just how amazing the whole thing is.

Heh. Seriously, though, watching him and the newbies go through Buffy and Angel (and previously, Avatar) and having so much fun in the comments really has reminded me how much I love them and made me love them MORE.
