'Out Of Gas'

Buffy and Angel 1: BUFFYNANGLE4EVA!!!!!1!

Is it better the second time around? Or the third? Or tenth? This is the place to come when you have a burning desire to talk about an old episode that was just re-run.

I thought the actual truck was what they dredged up out of the lake, and the truck that was killing people was just a ghostly manifestation of the driver?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

It was an episode with so much potential! Dean is revealed as having actual feelings about actual girls (well, just the one), there's a sex scene, the female actress is drop dead gorgeous, and they're going to try and deal with race issues.

Sweet fucking holy good, it is all that is bad in Supernatural land. Well, okay, throw in a female victim showering in a white nightdress and a joke only a twelve year old boy with no taste finds funny, and then it's *everything*. But it was so bad, Steph. The truck was killing black people.

I love my show, but I'm horrifically embarrassed by that. Beer Bad looks great in comparison.

On about rewatch 6, I decided it was 2/3s of the way to a good episode. But then Cassie's mom starts the Soap Opera Tears, and I can't stop laughing.

Racist. Ghost. Truck.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

It had a lot of potential but it fell so far short. Especially because the actress was so miscast. She was beautiful but she was the only thing that Dean had no chemistry with in any way. He was kinda sparking with that wall behind her though. And then the massive fail of the racist ghost truck.

That episode is the root of me desperately wanting a scene where Lisa meets Castiel and hits Dean with an accusatory "I thought the name you were calling out in your sleep was that girl you dated in Mississippi!"

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

I've been keeping an eye on Mark Watches, and he hit Becoming I and II, and then Anne. I usually don't read the comments, but of course, I had to with THOSE.

And then I had to go downstairs and watch Anne. And I got sidetracked by the fact that Dan had never seen Dr. Horrible's. So we watched that. And then Anne. And then Dead Man's Party. And then Becoming Part II. And then I discovered he's never seen all of all of them, and never in proper order.

OMG WHO DID I MARRY?!

So of course we will be taking care of THAT tout de suite.

Also: yes, I LOLed at the Season 3 predictions. With the snakes, I really really had a moment of "OH, HE TOTALLY CHEATED AND LOOKED!" because, really. Snake? I remain a tad suspicious.

ION, I went to watch this week's Downton Abbey, and Dan was all hesitatingly "Um...so...could we, maybe, watch, the...um...Friday's Supernatural first? If you want?"

He was a touched startled when I shouted "FUCK YEAH I GET A TOASTER!!!" and dashed to the couch. Only to remember about hiatus.

But. TOASTER!! Ha.

He did make a big deal about how bad the snake demon "Reptile Boy" was, so maybe he was basing his prediction on that.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Mark's got "Band Candy," "Lover's Walk" and "The Wish" this week.

Lucky bastard to watch them all for the first time in one week.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I forgot how much good stuff was in "Homecoming," too!

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

I too have been prompted by Mark Watches to rewatch (Seasons 2 and 3 at least). Some observations:

Becoming Pt 2 is still a massive gut-punch.
Band Candy and Earshot are still hilarious. Especially the look between Xander and the lunch lady. (What I missed first time around - Xander totally called the lunch lady being the killer.)
I had a vague idea that Kane, the hunter in Phases, made a return appearance (in Homecoming). Checked imdb, and it was a different hunter; however, the actor who played Kane also played Sahjhan on Angel.
