I don't see how he could stop you talking about a plot point and have it be conducive to discussion.
Well, you just can't use the word "crazy." Or "insane." Or "psychotic." Or...
Can I just say this sticks in my craw, and I've actually flown over the cuckoo's nest in the last 3 months.
I've seen a few commenters say similar things. I remember one great post where someone said they found the whole idea of "ableism" offensive because it equated mental illness with physical disabilities. I think they were reported for derailing.
I actually look forward to the subject. I would like to think that Mark will sit back and say, "Okay, crazy it is." IRT Dru.
I can guarantee that won't happen. There were epic threads of hundreds of comments about how terrible and hurtful it is and why are you holding on to this one word like it's your best friend. (I mean, he wouldn't even use "bitch" in his "When She Was Bad" review despite it being used in important character moments throughout the episode.)
I think that when you are talking about a non-human, I don't think "ableist" language is even at issue.
Oh, this is probably derailing somehow.
In conclusion, you can't see the stars, love. That's the ceiling. Also, it's day.

I can see them. But there's terrible confusion. I've given them all the same name.
I love you crazy bitches.
Hmm, I guess "weird sister" would not be allowed either.
What does it mean when you're a vampire who can hear voices but you can also prophesize?
Awesome, and the best vampire in the Jossverse.
I mean, on a sanity scale.
See above. Dru is My Girl. Hears voices, prophesizes, and talks to her doll? Best. Vampire.

Well, for this and several other reasons, I choose only to read his posts and not discuss or read the comments. I find the nannyism a bit over the top. I get the intentions, but it is too much.
I think I will just stick to his posts themselves and stay out of the comment threads, which is usually my policy anyway.
I have to say, from a distance, I just don't get Mark. But...that's from a distance. I've never read anything of his, don't even know the URL. Just seen plenty references, but none of it (especially this) has been conducive to me actually reading him.
Maybe if he watched Supernatural....ahah, that's just funny to think about.
It's my policy to never read the comments! Especially for something like this - I'm there to read what MARK says; I don't care what all the random people who flotsamed in from the Internet have to say.
I can't read most of the comments anyway and am too lazy to translate.
edit: Also, what Zen said. I wouldn't mind chatting with Mark himself, but the side conversations aren't as interesting to me.
