Yes. A stupid and unlikely plot point that made no sense.

Yes, but that was funny.
Those aren't reasons to hate Xander though. They're disliking him because he's a creepy hormonal boy who's all over Buffy in the first couple eps.
Soon Angel will be doing the stalk-y thing proper though.
