Oh! I know this one! 'Slaying entails certain sacrifices, blah blah blahbity blah, I'm so stuffy, gimme a scone.'

Buffy ,'Help'

Buffy and Angel 1: BUFFYNANGLE4EVA!!!!!1!

Is it better the second time around? Or the third? Or tenth? This is the place to come when you have a burning desire to talk about an old episode that was just re-run.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Oh god - Free Agents was so unspeakably awful, I couldn't even make it all the way through the pilot. Hopefully it will get canceled so ASH (and the rest of the cast) can go do something better.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

It looked so dreadful, just from the trailers. I don't know that even ASH could save it.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Oh god - Free Agents was so unspeakably awful, I couldn't even make it all the way through the pilot. Hopefully it will get canceled so ASH (and the rest of the cast) can go do something better.

CLEARLY, ASH should just be doing Cabin Pressure on Radio 4. (I think it's on Radio 4.) He's been in 3 episodes! He's almost a regular! And Herc is awesome!

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Since this will get buried in natter - is anyone watching Ringer? I've got all the episodes on my DVR, but everything I've heard/read about it says it's not very good and I've secretly been hoping it was going to get cancelled early so I can just delete it, but if it's any good at all, I would watch it eventually.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

It's ... not that good. And SMG reminds me most of Buffy when she's the doppelganger which is weird.

I can't really say. It's amusing but I am not invested. At all.

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

Institutionalization in the Whedon-verse

Fantastic link, Glamcookie - thanks. I've long been irritated by the portrayal of madness in Buffy. I used to get told "It's only fiction - stop complaining," but that's hardly the way that Buffy was about representation in general.

I loved Season 7 (with a few exceptions), but I had problems with Season 6, as most people did. I didn't hate the depression theme, but the ridiculous mess made of Willow's story was annoying. The yellow crayon scene did redeem it a bit.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

What Cass said about Ringer. I cannot recommend it, but I'm hanging in hoping it will embrace OTT soapiness wholeheartedly.
