IO9 article on how we need more like Buffy, not simply more Buffy.
I had no idea it would happen, but this makes me tear right up, and this isn't helping the allergies at all.

Is it better the second time around? Or the third? Or tenth? This is the place to come when you have a burning desire to talk about an old episode that was just re-run.

I may have to download Becoming now.
Those two images can still give me chills.

That is one episode I have definitely seen less than the rest. It's so painfully realistic.
I have been a bit down lately. Feeling particularly worthless; worn out; etc. And so I was just so ... I don't know what exactly but inspired, I guess, when Buffy answers Angel with "me". I have seen Becoming several dozen times but it really is my favorite two hours of TV ever.
I think about that moment (with the sword and "me") often when I'm down. It's a go to image. I don't really know what to call the feeling it evokes - it's complex, and it changes - but it's big.

I don't think I can ever watch that episode again. (Or, somewhat relatedly, the movie "Up.")

Ooof, same here. "Up" was brilliant, and there are parts I would love to see again. Then there are the parts that make me tear up just thinking about them.

Yes.
