Zoe: I thought you wanted to spend more time off-ship this visit. Wash: Out there is seems like it's all fancy parties. I like our party better. The dress code is easier and I know all the steps.

'Shindig'

Buffy and Angel 1: BUFFYNANGLE4EVA!!!!!1!

Is it better the second time around? Or the third? Or tenth? This is the place to come when you have a burning desire to talk about an old episode that was just re-run.

Now tagless for your comfort.

I don't know if it's time or my own emotional place that makes it all seem much more cohesive. Hindsight improves a lot of the parts I didn't care for.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I don't think I'll ever know, as I can only work up the motivation to rewatch "Conversations with Dead People" and "Chosen" out of that season.

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

Season 5 will never ever work for me, but there are some great high points in the others. I did not hate 7.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Cashmere, I'm doing a rewatch also.

We are 2/3rds of the way through Season 4. I must admit, I skipped "Beer Bad." I just couldn't rewatch that one. I think Riley as a character is still problematic. I can see why he irritated me the first time around because, IMO, he wasn't written that consistently. This is not quite as bad as Maggie Walsh's sudden hate on for Buffy, but I understand that the actress had to leave so this might have been the best they could do to wrap up her storyline, but dang.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

I skipped "Beer Bad"

But it's got "foamy" and I still love Buffy hitting Parker over the head with a log. And Willow mocking Parker is always a good time. And Xander playing his version of a good, empathetic bartender.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Also, "Giles, please don't make cave-slayer angry!"

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I love "Beer Bad", it's funny and highly quotable.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

yeah, I agree with you all. I still just can't do it yet. I'll try again next year.

I won't be able to rewatch "Doublemeat Palace" when I get there either.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

In our slow* viewing of all of Buffy and Angel (new for The Boy, obv. not for me), we most recently watched Doublemeat Palace.

Still awful.

*(Slow because we have been derailed by DVDs of The Big Bang Theory. Hey, it's happier than Buffy S6!)

I can usually think of at least one good thing to say about every Buffy episode, but nothing is coming to mind on that one.
