ha!
Buffy and Angel 1: BUFFYNANGLE4EVA!!!!!1!
Is it better the second time around? Or the third? Or tenth? This is the place to come when you have a burning desire to talk about an old episode that was just re-run.
Well, apparently it's official now.
We just watched "Dead End." And honestly, "Stop it, evil hand!" is still just as funny as it was the first time.
We also watched the last 3 episodes of Buffy S5, and "Spiral" wasn't as bad as I remembered it, but "Weight of the World" (catatonic Buffy) was utterly useless. "The Gift" kind of traumatized The Boy.

That's because it's not bad.
"Weight of the World" (catatonic Buffy) was utterly useless
This is, though.

It's like Joss got to the end of the season and went, "What? Twenty-TWO episodes, you say? FUCK!!!! Well....what if we make Buffy catatonic and guilt-ridden over the most stupid-ass, minor thing possible, and make Willow do some weird thing where she goes in Buffy's mind and time-travels, and stretch that out over 40-some minutes? What's the WB gonna do, DROP US?"
I mean, seriously. Total. Waste.
"Spiral" has problems (hello -- that right there is where you can stop saying that the Slayer doesn't kill humans), but it's not that bad. Even Ben was almost good.
Dead End is at the top of my favorite Angel episodes ever.
i've always liked Spiral.

Hee. It does seem like that, doesn't it?

high-fives

Yeah, I can see your argument and hey, not like it's one of my favorite episodes evah!!1, but to me, it makes sense. Sometimes you can get all catatonic and guilt-ridden over the most stupid-ass, minor thing possible.
Willow do some weird thing where she goes in Buffy's mind and time-travels, and stretch that out over 40-some minutes?
Made less sense.
Buffy went catatonic because she couldn't protect Dawn. Which is a pretty big thing in my book. On the other hand, Willow in the endless loop in Buffy's mind was pretty lame.
