Buffy and Angel 1: BUFFYNANGLE4EVA!!!!!1!

Is it better the second time around? Or the third? Or tenth? This is the place to come when you have a burning desire to talk about an old episode that was just re-run.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

We watched "Blood Money" last night, which I had remembered only for the cringe-inducing videotape of Wes dancing in his underwear that Angel played at the W&H fundraiser for Anne's shelter.

What I forgot was that that episode also had Angel in Lilah's backseat, telling her "The begging comes later," as well as one of my favorite lines EVER, "Let me wipe away the tears with my PLASTIC HAND."

Oh, Lindsey. You can take a nothing day and suddenly make it all worthwhile.

Alexis Denisof really did sacrifice himself on the altar of the foolish-- remember the dancing at the party? (And Angel imagining himself dancing?)

I guess Wes really earned the right to be all badass by S4. (Mmm... Scruffy Wes)

Yeah, I remember reading somewhere that Joss offered him a chance for Wes to do something heroic during the confrontation with the mayor, or being knocked out in the first few seconds. Alexis chose the early knockout because that was so fitting...

It's been a few years, so I may be remembering it wrong, though...

You're remembering right. And it was absolutely the right choice for the character at that point in his development.

vanguard of the socialist Hollywood liberal homosexualist agenda

Angel imagining himself dancing is what made me fall in love with David Boreanaz. So cheerfully, cheerfully dorky.

Art Crawl!!!

I can't believe that the stupid ouija board gets made and the awesome Tarot cards don't.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Angel imagining himself dancing is what made me fall in love with David Boreanaz. So cheerfully, cheerfully dorky.

The first time that scene aired, I laughed so hard I fell off the couch. Probably because it built up - there was a definite lag between processing what I was seeing initially and reacting to it.

As I recall, it was the rapid-fire hand clapping that utterly sold me.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I agree.

I'm like a fucking toddler amused by the same damn thing. That clapping gets me every.single.time.

I remember Plei saying that she started watching Angel in the middle(ish) of S2, and that she seriously thought that Wes and Gunn were in a relationship.

We watched "Thin Dead Line" the other night, and DAMN if that isn't true. Gunn's reactions to gut-shot!Wes are 100% L-U-V.

Even The Boy agreed, and he's more disinclined to see slash where there is no canonical basis.
