I come to find out that my computer is a complete piece of shit and I need to buy a new one. sob

ditto. Computer was free and the sound works and I think I already got $5 worth of pleasure from the free week so I'm trying not to complain. (and failing, apparently)

I don't mind having to buy a new computer, but I am paralyzed by the horror of having to decide what computer to buy. I really just need someone to make that decision for me. Ditto with the decision on whether to get an iPhone or a Blackberry.

Deconstructing Dr. Horrible.

That's actually a really good analysis and even articulates quite a few things that were sort of half-congeled in my head. She has points I don't agree with (I think her issues with Firefly, for example, are unfair) but overall I think she's pretty spot-on.

I use my computer for email, serious internet surfing, lots of streaming video and downloaded video, and spreadsheet and database applications. Any suggestions would be welcome.

And thanks, PC, about the iPhone. That is the way I am leaning.

Only PC so far, but am not against mac on any sort of principle.
