NILLY!
I think the simple answer to your question about the music is a matter of composer's style. The music sounds similar because it sounds like Whedon's writing style. Like how things by John Williams all have similar characteristics.
There's probably more specificity to find there, in piano styles and whatnot, but my brain is not nearly that spicy today.
OMG NPH is so adorable!!!! How did I not know this? I'm in total love. Dr. Horrible is the new woobie!
He's such a woobie, and NPH is doing a fabulous job.
(I saw a clip (probably on YouTube) of NPH doing "Not While I'm Around" from Sweeny Todd with, I think, Patti LuPone, and he broke my heart, the poor noodle.)
The last number in Act II reminded me muchly of "Rest in Peace".
Wow, Nilly! I thought there was an understanding between us you're not watching this until after Tisha'a Be'Av! /kidding.
1. (somewhat whispering) Would someone please explain me the Australia line, because I can't get the joke?
2. I've just skipped huge amounts of Nilly's posts, but that's mostly because the little voices in my head reassuring me I'll get a rerun, from The Nilly herself, in Hebrew in about three weeks. Oh hell, I'll probably read it on Sunday, when I'll have to amuse myself in work. Somehow.
Edit: html.
He's just saying he thinks she'll
forgive him for being evil
when he
gives her her own continent.
I love your posts, Nilly. Dr Horrible, to me, is about five things: being outside of society, the fear of being alone, the difficulty of making a connection with somebody, the imbalance of society and
Captain Hammer's penis.
It's really typical Joss Whedon themes - which unsurprisingly I'm drawn to - with the added bonus that it's really well shot, and oh yea - it's really good.
So, creatively, I think it works incredibly well. From a business point of view, too, it's worked really well. It's basically the first example I think we're going to see of a successful indy produced web series, without any corporate investment. Which is very much not status quo.
Oh, I kindda understood that and thought it might be some kind of sexual innuendo I didn't get. Thanks Laga!
Kevin's whitefont made me snorfle.
Shir, oh how I wish
the Australia thing was a sex reference now! Cause that would be hilarious.
