Yeah, but you're an amateur fry cook and I come from a long line of fry cooks that don't live past 25.

Buffy ,'Showtime'

Buffy and Angel 1: BUFFYNANGLE4EVA!!!!!1!

Is it better the second time around? Or the third? Or tenth? This is the place to come when you have a burning desire to talk about an old episode that was just re-run.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Really, Wes is sort of like Robins 1-3 rolled up in one delightful package. You can't map him to a single Robin, but you can map a lot of his moments TO Robins.

Please to explicate and elaborate.

Like, Dean's Emo Man Pain is SO different from Wesley's Emo Man Pain (though Wesley's Emo Man Pain is kind of a hybrid of Sam's and Dean's, if we're looking at Man Pain flavors and attempting to map/blend them).

...and be specific.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Dean can be best explained by Tori Amos lyrics, Wesley by The Smiths?

More specifically, Wesley and Sam both share an awareness of how screwed up they are that's more than surface-level. They have a concept of what normal should be that's somewhat grounded in Reality Land. (And the more I think of it, the more I can see similarities between Sam and Wes, and keep losing any track of Dean in there. Weirdly, Dean is starting to map to Cordelia in my head. And that's just wrong.)

So, re: item the first, you have Robin 2's feelings of betrayal, you have Robin 3's self-appointed sidekickdom, you have Robin 1's, umm. Manly devotion? Pixie boots? Loss of the dweebdom at transition to man ho?

Intriguing. Wes does have more of Morrissey's miserablism.

It's a tougher map because Robin 1 is supposed to evoke Robin Hood's devil may care joi de vivre etc. But Robin 1 also has the man-ho thang, and the high competence. Early Wes seems a bit more like Robin 3 to me. Scruffy!Wes gets into Robin 2 and Nightwing. But you know that turf better than I.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

I am so sad that the DC Universe started to suck, because I miss Plei's Batman/Robin analyses SO MUCH.

"What would it take to get your daughter to stop tweeting about this?"

Skimming gets me in so much trouble. I saw the words Robins and man pain flavors and started day dreaming about standing in line at the ice cream store ordering a double dip of man pain please. Yumm.

'cause I gotta say, geeky Wes just wasn't all that pretty. Boy got his angst on though and, whoa mama, there's the pretty.

Yes. Very.

I'm going back and reading for the serious now.

Art Crawl!!!

I know! To think at one point I was reading ALL of the Bats titles and some of the others and now I've just got Batman and the Outsiders.

t not here

Ahahahahaha!!!!

Of course, more the fool me, because I keep buying some of the titles. Honestly, the only one that I'm consistently liking is Blue Beetle, because he is MADE OF AWESOME.

I generally like Teen Titans and the Green Arrow/Black Canary title (even though it's apparently heresy to like anything that Winick writes; and I generally think he's wack, but the GA/BC title makes me laugh; I can't help it).

Everything else keeps making me wonder why I keep them on my pull list (Batman, Nightwing, even [sadly] BoP).

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

My current total woobie is Zuko from Avatar. Poor little man needs a hug!
