There's probably a good analysis about the path from this Buffy to "Becoming" to "The Gift", but...I don't feel up to it here.
(Actually I'm a little surprised it's affecting me this much....I don't remember that from the first time I watched it.)
Is it better the second time around? Or the third? Or tenth? This is the place to come when you have a burning desire to talk about an old episode that was just re-run.

I'm at the point at which Buffy has gone off on her own and Giles and Xander and Willow and Jenny Calendar are in the library trying to plan.

Is there a concept for that in fandom? Some notion of the writers consciously and purposefully seeding for slash? As opposed to inadvertent slash, I guess.
