We are done with Buffy! S7 is a tough one to get through but it really does stick the landing. "Are you ready to be strong?" = Instant Tears
I had forgotten that Spike's inclusion in AtS S5 was spoiled by the credits (at the time it was spoiled by a gazillion WB promos but I was hoping to make it a surprise for Aeryn).
Aw. That really was a good ending

Man, I'm glad R.J. Decker (from the same executive producers) got its start a season earlier, the two shows have an almost identical premise. I don't think it would have been picked up if the Rockford Files reboot were already airing.
I'm struggling to picture David Boreanaz as Jim Rockford but I admittedly have not seen much of his post-Angel work outside of a few random episodes of Bones.
I can definitely see him as Rockford.
I've heard enough rumors about him being awful on set in his later career that I'm not sure I want him as easygoing genial Jim Rockford, despite the resemblance to James Garner. (It doesn't hurt my appreciation of his work on Joss' shows, but then Angel himself ranging from something of a jackass to a terrifying sadistic killer never bothered me.)

I have a migraine, so while I was lying down in a dark room waiting for the meds to kick in, I came up with a list of my favorite Giles moments. In no particular order:
• demon Giles in "A New Man"
• "Do you like my mask? Isn't it pretty? It raises the dead."
• all of "Band Candy"
• cleaning Buffy's wounds in "Helpless" while head watcher guy says "You have a father's love for the child"
• "Wish I Could Stay" in OMWF
• that tiny scene of Giles drinking and listening to Cream after Joyce died
• "If it's guilt you're looking for, Buffy, I'm not your man. All you will get from me is my support... and my respect."
• skewering the mayor (with a type of sword I can't remember)
• "I'd like to test that theory"
• the flaming baseball bat of vengeance (my personal favorite)
I could probably list about 20 more, but those are my favorites.
