'Time Bomb'
Is it better the second time around? Or the third? Or tenth? This is the place to come when you have a burning desire to talk about an old episode that was just re-run.
I will certainly watch. I have no idea what to expect and will try to keep it that way as I feel like that will be the only way to manage my expectations (that is, to strive not to have any at all).
I was thinking I haven't seen any Chloe Zhao movies, but I have seen Eternals. I don't think that tells me anything, though. I just looked up the Zuckerman sisters and they are associated with Poker Face and Fringe and some other things that sound positive, so that's promising
I want to love it and likely will.
Chloé Zhao’s movie, Hamnet, currently in the film festival circuit, is at 100% on Rotten Tomatoes. Although it is Most Emphatically Not a Light Comedy.
Also, I am reminded that I wouldn't have thought the American Pie guys would have been a good choice to bring us Murderbot and they are knocking it out of the park, so who even knows?
As long as it doesn't engage in character assassination of the original gang I'll be at least ambivalent towards it.
I finally convinced Aeryn it was time for them to watch the original series with the argument "I want to rewatch it again before the new one comes out," so even if it turns out horribly disappointing it's done one good thing!
Based on Eternals I don't have high hopes of Zhao knowing how to catch lightning in a bottle for romantic chemistry, which was one of the strengths of the original show. Of course, I'm not nearly as focused on that aspect as I was 25+ years ago, so its lack may not detract too much for me personally.
