I don't know who needs to hear this but AtS S4 does not hold up. I was one of that season's most ardent defenders at the time, but I'm ready to admit I was very young and stupid and this is not good television.
(Still love Connor who is forever my woobie.)
(But holy fuck the Cordy/Connor seduction scene is creepy and bad and wrong and made infinitely worse by the random but frequent stating of Connor's age as definitely 18 and not "we have no idea because he grew up overnight in a hell dimension.")
(I was pissed off even when this first aired at how badly Cordy was written all season but it's so much worse than I even remember.)
I don't think I could watch that season of Cordelia again. The memory is painful.
It's a hard truth to hear but I believe you
It was such a disappointment. I hated everything about Cordy/Connor and how Cordelia was written that season. I just had to delete the whole thing from my headcanon, there was no fixing it.
It gave her something to do besides moon over Angel while wearing diaphanous gowns, so I still think it was a big improvement over the back half of Season 3. I generally don't feel compelled to rewatch past 3.01, though.
I just remember being so grateful they gave CC's farewell episode, "You're Welcome," to Fury. It made me angry that we got her back just to lose her, but I was grateful that at least we got her back, and that our last moments with Cordelia wasn't that other stuff.

It didn't redeem their wrong turns but that was a sweet valentine to CC and Cordy.
And that's a wrap on BtVS rewatch with teenager! Here's to doing it again in 4-5 years when I have another one.
Mine didn't watch it with me, other than Pangs which they endured yearly. I'll have to suggest it to them again. I guess it is a Mom thing to them.
I've been doing a sporadic rewatch of Angel. Last one I watched was Waiting in the Wings. Eww.
but the episode before it, the name of which I don;t remember, featured Jeffrey Dean Morgan as the guest star who conned Angel into killing vampires so he could get his friend's watch back.
