Whedonesque did it to me twice, on Twitter, where I'd just dropped in to ensure my Trump hatred remained turned up to 11.
Then, Tep, I watched the final scene of Becoming part 2, and got a sad. I blame Sarah McLachlan.
If you want to feel more sad than old, here it is. [link]
There's only one flaw, it doesn't have the sad Grr Argh guy who needs a hug, but he's in this compilation: [link]
If you want to feel more sad than old
Dang, I don't know which one I would pick (sad vs old).
BtVS rewatch with my 12 year old just hit Surprise/Innocence.

Buffy: Ohhh. Oh, my God! I was freaking out! You just disappeared.
Angelus: What? I took off.
Buffy: But you didn't say anything. You just left.
Angelus: Yeah. Like I really wanted to stick around after that.
Buffy: What?
Angelus: You got a lot to learn about men, kiddo. Although I guess you proved that last night.
Buffy: What are you saying?
Angelus: Let's not make an issue out of it, okay? In fact, let's not talk about it at all. It happened.
Buffy: I, I don't understand. Was it m-me? Was I not good?
Angelus: You were great. Really. I thought you were a pro.
Buffy: How can you say this to me?
Angelus: Lighten up. It was a good time. It doesn't mean like we have to make a big deal.
Buffy: It *is* a big deal!
Angelus: It's what? Bells ringing, fireworks, a dulcet choir of pretty little birdies? Come on, Buffy. It's not like I've never been there before.
Buffy: Don't touch me.
Angelus: I should've known you wouldn't be able to handle it.
Buffy: Angel! I love you.
Angelus: Love you, too. I'll call you.
12 year-old reaction to BB&B: "That was really funny and it was nice to see Xander get some payback for being terrible."
I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO PROUD.
You did an excellent job sprog raising.
You should be BEAMING Jessica.
Rewatch-with-the-kid-update:
He lost a handful of points during Becoming when he tried to argue that Xander had a point with the whole why-not-just-kill-Angelus thing (he's not wrong, but...shut up), and then lost a bunch more for being insufficiently wrathful about That Lie. (To be fair, he hasn't had 20+ years to hold that grudge, so I figure, give him time...)
He then gained back ALL the points when he told me he'd looked up the S3 credits online before we watched Anne, because I usually fast-forward through them, and he wanted to see what changed. And then we watched Dead Man's Party because he asked to watch another episode. (I think he was expecting the new Slayer to show up right away.)
He has insisted on a no-spoilers policy so he doesn't know anything about Faith, but I haven't been able to stop myself interjecting "OH NO NOT HIM" whenever Snyder mutters something about telling the Mayor because honestly I am not made of stone.
I wonder if Harry Groener knows that there's a group of people who think "OH NO NOT HIM" every time we see him in anything. (still not over him being the Designated Survivor on The West Wing)
I just get a kick out of the "fact" that the Mayor of Sunnydale is Ted Mosby's hippy drippy stepfather, Clint, in
How I Met Your Mother.
