Xander: Look who's got a bad case of Dark Prince envy. Dracula: Leave us. Xander: No, we're not going to "Leabbb you." And where'd you get that accent, Sesame Street? "One, Two, Three - three victims! Maw ha ha!"

'Lessons'

Buffy and Angel 1: BUFFYNANGLE4EVA!!!!!1!

Is it better the second time around? Or the third? Or tenth? This is the place to come when you have a burning desire to talk about an old episode that was just re-run.

Our wings are not tired.

Theme: Always makes me chair dance!

Every single time!

Imaginary Xander is quite the machine!

Was waiting for it. Just love Anya too!

I think the lurking is a dick move from Angel.

Very much so.

Why is the coffe shop mostly outside? IS that a California thing

They are here too.

Also great cut with "home is the place where they have to take you in" to Spike and Harmony.

That and Spike struggling to carry Harmony, and the stake, all pure gold!

He had "trouble performing"

Snerk, waited for that one too. Even better when you know it is coming.

I may have to watch it again tomorrow!

What is even happening?

We're going to watch as soon as my pies are done.

Sophia:

Weird we never see Willow's mother.

We do, but only once, as far as I can recall. It was in 3.11, "Gingerbread." She was involved with MOO (Mothers Opposed to the Occult). That's the episode in which Amy turns into a rat. Jordan Baker played Sheila Rosenberg.

Does Joyce become a better mom because of Dawn?

I don't know, but I do think she is a better mother with Dawn, and in part, probably because of the experience of parenting Buffy. We always joke that our eldest is the Beta kid, and that numbers two and three get better parenting, because everything has been pre-tested.

"From beneath you it devours"- Willow says we wonder

I'm not following this. Was there a reference?

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

She is sort of like a "nice guy" in female form. She has some entitlement issues

Looking back, I realize that Willow is the "I'm not like other girls" sort of girl.

Hi Buffistats! I used to post here long ago. I didn't know where else to share my weird emotions over the 20th anniversary of the Buffy 2-Night Event tomorrow.

I'd loved the show before, but Surprise & Innocence turned me into a superfangirl. I was so happy to find a home with the Buffistas.

What is even happening?

Hey candyb! I miss you and our spoiler gang, from when Buffy and Angel were on. I hope everything is well with you.

Wow, 20 years since Surprise and Innocence. I mean, I guess I knew it, because I noted the 20th anniversary of the premiere, last year, but it hadn't registered.

I remember bits of that ad (from your link). That's when the show moved nights.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I think that was my favorite ad for the run of both series. It was early enough in the narrative that the possibility of one of Buffy's friends turning coat was really exciting.

I mean, I don't recall it being a huge mystery who it was going to be, as Angel just barely picked Buffy over Darla the previous year and he was all wistful and torn about Drusilla from her introduction in the second season. But still, very effective promo.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

So, my student worker is interested in starting Buffy. I remember is having a discussion of a "starter pack" to hook people back in the day. I was thinking of recommending Pangs/hush/something blue, because that is my favorite run, but does anyone have any suggestions? I feel like starting with Season One might turn him off. It might be too dated. He likes X-Files and Twin Peaks as well, so he might like less funny episodes (I also like Band Candy and Intervention to rewatch)
