Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

So the Ancients are still around, as the Ascended Beings that Daniel hung out with for a while?

Do the Ascended have any opinions about the Ori? I stopped watching about the time the Ori showed up, except I caught a couple episodes for Claudia Black.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

The Ascended fear and hate the Orii. The Orii want to kill them, but the Ascended will do nothing in the human world to help defeat them. Which was made pretty explicit last night--the Ascended woman who gave Daniel some information was punished by the others.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

The plague was before the Ancients flew Atlantis from Earth to the Pegasus Galaxy, several million years ago. The remnant that came back @8,000 B.C.E. either merged into human culture or meditated until they ascended.

Interestingly, we got confirmation last night that the Ori only ascended after that last group of Ancients did, not millions of years ago when their two peoples first split. The threat they represent (beyond just being scary religious fanatics) is quite recent, maybe no older than the go'a'ould occupation of Earth.

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

Heh. Sci-Fi is running the original Stargate movie, and Richard Kind (who played Lucius in last night's SGA) is in it.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

The Stargate movie is on Sci-Fi. Mmm...James Spader and Kurt Russell.

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

Okay, over the past week or so, I finished up this season of Dr. Who.

I am so glad that other people were scared by The Impossible Planet and The Satan Pit, because I would have hid under my bed, had it been convenient. Dr. Who is usually sci-fi scary, but this was horror movie Aliens scary, and I was successfully creeped the HELL out.

It was almost impossible to avoid what the big spoiler was -- when everyone is talking about "the big spoiler", it's a pretty easy guess that someone's leaving the show. So I spent the whole of Doomsday waiting for it to happen. Big props to Billie Piper, though, who is aces at being utterly miserable. *sniffle*

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

Evil-shrink-lady murdered Susan #2, and made it look like suicide, if that helps. Which brings up a point. Did anyone do an autopsy on Susan #2, or even investigate the fact that it might not be a suicide?

Well, evil shrink lady spread some pills around, probably the same substance that she poisoned her with. Her husband had just died after almost destroying the universe, so I can see how they might have chalked it up to suicide, especially if the Evil Shrink had said something like "I can't share out sessions, but I'm not surprised"

Susan #2 may not have contacted her parents because Walter told her she couldn't because they were moving to Eureka. I mean, if I moved to a top secret town, I wouldn't be surprised that I wasn't allowed to talk to anyone.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Had a convo with Colin...the producers know that the Sarah thing is creepy--they like that. And [thematic spoiler] it will be referred to later on in the season.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Remind me what the Sarah thing is?
