You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

One of the lesser System Lords, no doubt.

I think Freddy Quimby should walk out of here a free hotel

Eureka is going to be called A Town Called Eureka when it airs on Sky. So say the ads, anyway.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Yes! I saw! It'll be here in August!

::bounces::

Good job, universe! Although, granted that will still only give me maybe two episodes before going to Thailand...still, housepoints for Sky.

Had lunch with a friend today, and he asked me if I'd seen Eureka and what I thought. He liked it a lot and says he will continue watching. He specifically said that he liked the lead and particularly some of his line deliveries. Then I started talking about how well it had done, blah, blah, blah, and he looked a little confused, since he'd brought up the show in the first place, though it made more sense once I shared the friend of a blinvisible internet friend thing. I totally one degree of separation name-dropped!

As for me, I liked it, too. Liked Colin and the guy who plays Henry the best. I thought Jack Carter was a good combinaiton of competent yet befuddled by all the weird. Nice. Oh, and the deputy woman - liked her, too. The whirligig machine thing reminded me of the machine from Contact. Love Greg Germann and am so bummed that he's not going to be on the show. I didn't love the character of the daughter (though the actress was fine)... I'd have left her in the jail cell, too. Then again, I'm mean.

I liked a lot of what they showed for the upcoming season, too. It looks like it'll be fun and with the danger and all.

In conclusion: yay!

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Chiming in late on the Doctor, Doctor and Frank's Place looooooove. It took me until last night to finish watching the Eureka pilot, which I didn't find all that gripping, but still well-done enough to hope it will improve. (I have a theory that you have to give most SF shows at least six episodes to settle down, as writers, producers, and actors figure out how the rules really work. There are rare exceptions that are good from the first show, but that's not the way to bet.)

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I finally got through all of EUREKA. I liked it. Definitely very pilot-y, but with a lot of potential. I generally agree with a lot of you that the daughter isn't that interesting a character, though, well-played, and I'm a bit skeptical about the evil shrink.

The danger is it could turn into SMALLVILLE with "science" in for kryptonite and wackiness ensues. Hopefully not, though, and Colin seems a lot more interesting in one episode than Tom Welling and KK combined have for the entire run of that show. He's got a talent for the double-take followed by a dry, snarky aside.

Can someone tell me what happens after Colin gets the letter about the promotion, my tape cut off the very end because the wrestling (!) on right before went over. I assume he found out the promotion means he's now sheriff?
