Darkplace is going to be on Sci-Fi!
Yay!

A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
Huh. I've never heard of that. Sounds wacky.
From the blurb about Darkplace:
"The program also features cult horror star Todd Rivers (as Dr. Lucien Sanchez) and Madeleine Wool (as Dr. Liz Asher), who vanished during the production and remains missing and presumed dead. Controversy has haunted the show since its creation, leading to rumors that the production was cursed. When Darkplace was cancelled, it had already claimed six lives, caused three nervous breakdowns, and been subject to at least one visitation."
!!!
I have GOT to see this.
OK, I totally called the drive-by and scoop to rescue Sam. Except I figured they could just let her pull herself into an airlock. Anyway. Called it!
Enjoyed Vala's interactions with the kid - especially the, "As your mother, I forbid you to..." speech. Cute.
And, finally, Bra'tac! (No reason in particular; I just love him.)
Liked the Rodney/Ronon banter a lot. Totally didn't buy that the Wraith guards would just turn John over to Michael like that, but, whatever. Wonder what they're going to do with a ship full of temporary humans. They have to keep getting the whateveritis to keep them human, right? I wonder whether they'll just let them all turn back.
In conclusion: Not particularly standout episodes, either one, but I'm glad they're back.
ETA: Happy Birthday + 1, Zenkitty!
It's Saturday, and I don't have a new episode of Doctor Who simmering away for me to enjoy tonight. :~(
I know. No new Doctor Who is wrong on so many levels. I'm firmly against it, no matter what the argement for the off the airness might be.
Why did they bring Sam back without her space suit?
I agree - the guards just turning the prisoner over to Michael seemed wrong.
And on a hive ship is there really only one female?
They're like queen bees in an insect colony. Maybe they have immature queens or preserved eggs elsewhere as backups.

AT that point, DH said "That's the problem with a fear-based society. Fear is easy to hack." Which works for me.
I am all excited that there will be Dead Like Me on SciFi!
I did wonder how effective lying could be among creatures bound together in a hive mind. Obviously, they can't all be aware of each other's every thought, but it seems like one of them who's suspicious of another could get a good idea of truth/falsehood in a conversation.
