Boxed Set, Vol. II: "It's a Cookbook...A Cookbook!!"

A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Dr. Who finale: My heart, she is broke. But the new guy seems, well, I don't know. Adorable!

Wait, you mean Pete's the 10th Doctor?

What everyone else said. I will seriously miss CE, a LOT, but am looking forward to Tennant given the enthuisiasm he's been greeted with here.

Is it cannon that Time Lords get younger with each iteration? Becuase it certainly seems to be going that way, thinking back all the way to Hartnell.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I think it's just that British casting directors are catching Hollywood-itis and casting younger each time. Though I suppose there could have been some practical "let's get someone slightly less infirm and subject to senility so he can last more than a couple of seasons" thought going on as well. Hence casting a very young fangeek of the show for the latest round.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Everyone seems younger next to William Hartnell.

After the first three, the age has bobbled up and down between actors in their 30's and 40's, IIRC.

Peter Davison was pretty young.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Bendis interviews Whedon:

BENDIS: Yeah, I’m completely alone. And you know how I know I’m completely alone? Not on DVD yet. So what’s the last great movie you’ve seen?

WHEDON: Okay, I did see some unexpected greatness in “Kong.” Amidst the hoke and the bloat was some transcendent movie making. It was like the “The Legend of 1900”: a great, lean flick trapped in a three-hour fat suit. But no, I do have a recent great, and it”s not, I don’t think it’s coincidence that the last great movie I watched wasn’t a movie. I’m way late to the game, but I have really good excuses. But I just watched the miniseries opener of “Battlestar Galactica” and I loved the toes off that bitch. I’m not positive what that phrase means. But tension, drama, humanity, and—alien spaceships. I was pretty floored. That’s my call.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Well, unless that whole entropy thing happens, or Tegan and Nyssa have to jetison whole chunks of it to escape the Big Bang...

I'm just looking forward to the next time he complains about not having enough time for a deadline or something. "Well, the Buffistas say that you're secretly a Time Lord. What are you worrying about?"

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

Bendis interviews Whedon:

That was a pretty fun interview. Though I wonder where Bendis has time to interview folks amidst his writing for every comic book known to man and several unknown.
