When will Sci Fi channel get Christmas Invasion?
Boxed Set, Vol. II: "It's a Cookbook...A Cookbook!!"
A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
I am hoping that Rose resurrected Lynda with a Y as well as the other folks on the station.
Oh yeah! I remember liking her. Didn't she end up getting all badass with a gun by the end of it?
Resurrecting Lynda would have been harder, as she was...sucked out into space. Jack was just dead. Although Jack could use a sidekick. Poor, ditched Jack.
Raise your hand if "OMG! Parting Gifts!"
I hope we get Christmas Invasion.
There are lots of bits that seem like they're important, even beyond Rose ending the Time War. Just so much bigness.
eta: Nice callback to The Unquiet Dead with recycling dead bodies.
Wow. Good stuff.
No word on Christmas Invasion or Season 2. DArn that Scifi.
The first time I saw TPotW, I had to watch "Primeval". In fact, this weekend I believe I will watch "Primeval" AND "The Christmas Invasion".
Oh, and the Ninth Doctor's second goodbye to Rose also always makes me tear up.
CE took some time to grow on me, but now I'm wishing his turn as The Doctor had lasted longer. The new guy looks like he's 12, but I supposed I shouldn't judge based on 5 seconds of screen time.
I was very skeptical about David Tennant and he's won me over and then some. he's an asbolutely fantastic replacement for CE.
Tennant's a great doctor. Eccleston was greater, and I miss him. Not as much as I'd feared, but still. I like his razor's edge of anguish.

As a long-time fan of Doctor Who, I was thrilled with the writing, and figured that with writing that good, any actor with a modicum of talent would do. I was both disappointed that Eccleston did not last very long, as I can imagine so many possible stories for the Ninth Doctor that we just did not get to see, and extraordinarily pleased with the level of talent that Tennant brings to the role for the Tenth Doctor.
Tom and I were discussing the spin for CE only being on for one season... he'd heard that the party line was that CE, being a pretty big TV star in the UK was really only brought in to generate interest for the first series, then a lesser known actor could step in and carry on...
I thought I remembered, though, last summer hearing the news that CE was out, and it had to do with CE's personal wishes not to be involved now that he saw what he was in for, or something.
Interesting.
Cannot WAIT for the DVDs. I feel like it's been so long since I saw "Rose"... almost like a new episode! Plus, get to see all the cut scenes!
