'Shells'
Boxed Set, Vol. II: "It's a Cookbook...A Cookbook!!"
A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
why weren't the Time Lords making use of the method to bring back citizens that had used up their 12th regenerations?
The case could be made that the 12 regeneration limit was something proscribed by Gallifrean law, and not a hard limit. In "The Five Doctors" the high council promised the Master new regenerations if he helped the Doctor.
Maybe they weren't really, sincerely, dead yet?
They were only mostly dead.
The science on Doctor Who is never anything resembling our Earth-science. Just wave your hands. (Or "repeat to yourself, 'This is just a show, I should really just relax.'")
Incidentally, there's a cut line setting this up in the script. The Doctor says that when he was a little kid he figured out how to communicate with nanites. Rose replies, "There are so many ways to say, 'I had a lonely childhood.'"
BTW, are you Season Two Who-watchers aware of TWOP's "You Lucky Bastards" season two thread?
It's in the Who forum under "General Gabbery".
"Everybody lives, Rose! Just this once, everybody lives!!"
Loved this. LOVED IT! The whole episode. I wish I'd taped the EMPTY CHILD now, but this IS a keeper episode (at least until US DVDs arrive).

We've watched The Doctor Dances at least half a dozen times, I luv the ep with an unreasoning love.
I've been rewatching "The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances" as well. They may be my favorite Dr. Who episodes yet.
Oatmeal with full-fat milk and organic peanutbutter.
It looks like Supernatural has been picked up for next season. [link]
Excellent.
I spoke to a friend last night whose whole take on the Smallville episode was different than mine -- I said something about Clark being imprisioned and she said, "I choose to think that he was flying away". I was like, what?
Well, somehow her dvr cut off BEFORE the scene of Clark imprisioned in that box flying through space.
