Thank you, Tom! It was.
Boxed Set, Vol. II: "It's a Cookbook...A Cookbook!!"
A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
MamMoth was cheezy fun, with a script witty enough, and a cast talented enough to make up for plain bad SFX and a director who needed more practice.
Yep - I always like Tom Skerritt, and seeing Vincent Ventresca be a total goofball was fun. Little cutie. Cheesy fun.
Dr. Who: The most exciting part for me was the preview for the next show, because GILES!!! I did not know we were going to get ASH. Rock .
I liked Robert. I did have to laugh at the "I'll buy you time..." bit. Yeah, my trusty sword and I will protect you from the giant, super strong, man-eating wolf-thing. Though, I supposed the time it took to rip him to shreds did actually buy them some time. Maybe that's what he meant. Poor Robert .
Perhaps Robert's plan hinged on mimicking curry and passing through the werewolf so quickly that it would have to take a break to use the facilities ?
One think I loved about ep. 2 is the return to the whole Bad Wolf thing. They treated it as a joke, but some of those werewolf cells did survive, after all.
Find a missing Dr. Who Ep, get a Dalek:
Find a missing episode and win a replica Dalek.Doctor Who has been a hit TV show for more than 40 years. Unfortunately more than 100 of the early black and white episodes no longer exist in the BBC's film and videotape library.
However, episodes that the BBC thought had been lost forever have turned up in car boot sales, in peoples' attics and in other weird locations. So the wonderful people at Blue Peter have launched a campaign to try and track down these lost episodes.
The prize for anybody who finds a missing episode is a full-size replica Dalek... so it's definitely worth asking your family to check their lofts, garages, and spare bedrooms for any old film cannisters that might have the magic words 'Doctor Who' on the label.
I enjoyed Doctor Who. It probably helped that I had read Betsy's post beforehand, so my expectations weren't too high. OK, it was a bit superficial, but then it was an actioner, with pretty effective scares, I thought. Loved the shot of the Doctor and the Wolf against the wall. Nice that Rose and the Doctor are lovely and relaxed with each other (again). And the Torchwood stuff may be getting a bit predictable already, but the relvelation that it was originally anti-Doctor could make it interesting.
I had password problems so that after I got booted offline on Saturday, I wasn't able to log in -- I fully intended to watch and post MamMoth.
So, the first half of the BSG miniseries is on SciFi right now. If I still imbibed, I could make a drinking game of "spot the cylon".
Cylon! Drink!
Oo, are they marathoning? There's one episode I'm missing and it'd be nice to have it for my own personal marathon later this week.
Although I understand the episode kinda sucked. But even so.
