I learned from my flist today (could be old news, but what the hell) that Katee Sackhoff and Nathan Fillion will be starring in a movie together - White Noise2: The Light.

That was probably one of the most viscerally upsetting hours of TV I've ever seen.

Oh, hell yeah. Brilliant, brilliant - yet disturbing - stuff.

sumi, yeah, every week I really do intend to watch it, but then I get distracted. I usually remember to turn Survivor on halfway through, so I'll try to make a note to change channels afterwards this week.

Finally got to "Dalek," which was much better. Except for the score.

And I remembered to watch "Supernatural." Which makes me happier because I don't expect it to be good. I was a bit sad that the boys are wearing less mascara these days, though. I learned that, as if they aren't evil enough, vampires always drive with their highbeams on. Jerks.

Well, they are evil.

(Perhaps that was to blind on-coming traffic for easier snacking?)

Not that Supernatural is always big with the sense-making anyway, but considering vampires in the Supernatural-verse are nigh-invulnerable with strength, speed and senses superior to a human and can multiply fairly easily, I find it hard to believe Daddy Winchester would actually believe them hunted to extinction.

And then Smallville was a lame Saw rip-off with too-little Chloe and a very non Clark/Supes threatening of Lionel by Clark. Bleh.

Paramount is breathing life into its "Star Trek" franchise by setting "Mission: Impossible III" helmer J.J. Abrams to produce and direct the 11th "Trek" feature, aiming for a 2008 release.

I, personally, don't consider this an improvement over Rick Berman.

I do consider it an improvement. If he holds to form, it'll be only loosely tied to canon, but hella exciting.

And Trek could totally do with some excitement.

If this account of Abrams' involvement with the Superman movie is reliable, then it means the man has an utter contempt for canon.

Project, to be penned by Abrams and "MI3" scribes Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, will center on the early days of seminal "Trek" characters James T. Kirk and Mr. Spock, including their first meeting at Starfleet Academy and first outer space mission.

I think I'm gonna write a blockbuster movie about a hero who goes around slaying undead franchises.
