Tom Baker is my favorite, more because he's the one I've seen the most of than anything else.

Dad's seen some of the new episodes and has decided he doesn't like Eccleston. He thinks that Eccleston, but I don't think he's given Eccleston a fair shot. Dad hasn't seen very many but mostly his tv is old and the sound is failing the background noise is really loud and you can't really hear the actors (and his tv is so old there's no closed captioning...is Doctor Who closed captioned?) so I think it's hard for him to make a judgement. His main complaint is Eccleston smiles too much.

Eccleston's smile is a bit unsettling. It's too quick. He's not smiling for you.

Eccleston is manic. It's not a happy grin at all.

It's usually paired with a "fantastic!" after something goes horribly wrong and followed by nervous laughter, isn't it?

Or he's about to do something terribly dangerous, and he's thrilled about it.

It's funny because I posted on another board "I thought the plot was weak". Great minds think alike.

I did read somewhere that they were going to visit a few more foreign planets this season .

I'm a Tom Baker gal, but I have to say that - on the basis of two episodes - David Tennant is already my second-favourite Doctor. He's got real range, it's just fantastic acting. Plus, he looks as though he's having a blast.

Eccleston was OK, but got on my nerves whenever he tried to be goofy. He's all about the dark.

The goofy does seem to come slightly more naturally to Tennant.

I love that he's one of those actors that just keeps getting better the more you hear about him out of character.

Hmm. I'm trying to find a screencap of the new Doctor Who wearing his dork glasses from the new ep.
