Our wings are not tired.

I *coughcough* acquired seasons 1-4 (32gb) recently. Just finished yesterday so finally got to watch today. Of course it took a very long time, but what fun. Watching the big hair black and white shows takes me back to my youth. What I have is all Doctor One. When I am ready to burn up the hard drive again I will go in search of Doctor Two.

Our wings are not tired.

Yes Debet, the series of 4 I watched today were An Unearthly Child, The Cave of Skulls, The Forest of Fear, and The Firemaker. Cornball as could be, but fun. Since I never watched the show before Doctor Nine came to SciFi it was fun to see the things that were in the show at the beginning.

edit to make sense

I do believe in killing the messenger, you know why? Because it sends a message. ~ Damon Salvatore

there's a lj comm that's dedicated solely to *ahemming*. they've been focusing quite a bit on the older episodes. just as an fyi.

Art Crawl!!!

I thought that they'd just released a bunch of the earliest stuff on dvd, like in March.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

That could be why it wasn't in my queue. It wasn't out yet.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

RDA is on the Simpsons tonight (at a Stargate convention, no less).

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Hot damn. I just read the description of the SImpson's ep, and totally need to record it.

Mmm. RDA.

If I only had a brain...

So, last night we decided to sit down and watch the on-the-air version of "The Unquiet Dead". Early in the episode I sat upright and squealed, "THE BASTARDS!" They cut a scene. Expected, since they've got to fit commercials into the hour. Here's the scene they cut.

11. INT. TARDIS

ROSE steps forward, in her 1860 dress, hair pinned up appropriately. And she looks stunning.

THE DOCTOR Blimey.
ROSE Now don't laugh.
THE DOCTOR You look ... beautiful. Considering.
ROSE Considering what?
THE DOCTOR That you're human.
ROSE I think that's a compliment. Aren't you gonna change?
THE DOCTOR I've changed my jumper! Come on ...

Need I add that Eccleston and Piper played the hell out of it? My husband says that watching the SciFi version of Doctor Who is like watching Buffy on FX -- it reminds you of the show, but it isn't the show. Bah. If I had the choice, I'd skip straight to the (legal) DVD.

Expected, since they've got to fit commercials into the hour.

Tying in from Natter, AMC runs Hustle in 1:15 slots, so they don't have to do this. The commercial breaks are still awkward (since the show wasn't originally written with act breaks), but it's nice to at least have the entire cut aired.
