I was gonna watch the miniseries when it was first on, but I missed it. (I was intrigued by the stuff I read on Slashdot - the Firefly cameo and the more accurate physics of the ship movement.) Then when all the hoopla started about the regular series, I watched the first episode of season one and went back and got the mini. Hmm, I can't remember what specifically made me watch the first episode... although I think part of it was the desire not to miss out on the first few seasons like I did on Buffy.
Boxed Set, Vol. II: "It's a Cookbook...A Cookbook!!"
A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
I stayed away from Buffy until S4 because of the movie, so I sympathize.
Ahah. Forgot about the movie. They stay kinda equivalent in my head now.
I really am surprised at the number of people who actually remember the original BSG.
I was way-obsessed with the original BSG, although I missed about half of it (usually I missed half of each episode) due to conflicts with chores.

I stayed away from Buffy until S4 because I loved the movie. Figured a tv show would just be a cheap knock-off.
Andi, I liked the BtVS movie too. It was fun. It suffers in retrospect, but at the time, there was no show to compare it to, and I liked the idea of the only person able to fight vampires being a girl. I also liked the idea that she knew they were around because she got cramps, and I wished that part had been in the show.
I remember original BSG. At the time, nothing that wasn't Star Trek could really hold my interest. I didn't watch the new series because I hadn't liked the original all that much. Plus, beautiful female robots! I figured it would suck.

Plus, it had Rutger Hauer. I don't care how old and paunchy he gets, Rutger Hauer=Sex to me.
Boy refuses to watch Buffy because of his visceral hatred of SMG. He thinks he could really like it, but can't get past wanting to scream at the tv when she's on.
I've got him watching Firefly and Stargate, and I'm sure if I ever get around to BSG, he'll join in.
Last night I had a BSG dream. It was a normal episode, except at the end some Klingon warships showed up. Turned out Adama had entered into a secret alliance with the Klingons to fight the Cylons together.
I remember thinking, "Ah, that Moore - once again going against expectations." Because the expectation, of course, would be for Adama to ally with the Federation.
Anyway, it was sort of a cliffhanger ending, so I didn't get to see what happened next.
I hope that the sci-fi channel doesn't schedule your dreams, tommyrot, or you'll have to wait until like, December, to find out what happens.

That's awesome.
