Our wings are not tired.

Finally watched Doctor Who last night. The first one was all right, given that it was essentially a pilot. The second one I couldn't sit through. It felt like it was trying too hard, and I couldn't care less about Rose's angst, and after the first ad break I went into the office and just half-listened while I played a game on the computer.

But the one by Mark Gatiss is next, right? That will probably decide things one way or the other for me.

Oh, and what Matt said about Leela. She ruled.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Eps 2 and 3, I think, were the weakest of the season. Still, I liked them enough to keep coming back for more. "The End of the World", yeah, I didn't quite get why Rose would get all wigged about the Earth finishing its life cycle in its appointed time. But then maybe she hadn't quite grokked that bit of science before. Still, and even as big a fan as I am of kewl explosions, I'm not 100% sure I'd dig a date who took me off to see Earth Death.

ETA: Who am I kidding. If the Ninth Doctor showed up on and offered me a chance to be his Plus-One at that event, I'd be all for it.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I think it's one thing to know that your planet and species will die out someday, and quite another to see it. I think it would be a pretty upsetting experience.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

We watched last night. Dr Who is a different show - I can't quite take it as seriously as other stuff I watch. But it was fun. I have more thoughts, but they don't seem super coherent. I think I need to see more shows.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

2nd half of season 2 DVDs out in September?

That would make sense, at it's right before they start showing the new shows. (They've done that twice now, right?)

If I only had a brain...

The second one is Rose doing her culture-shock freakout, and it's actually pretty mild considering the dislocation she's going through.
