And that gorgeous music I loved in last week's teaser was repeated in that scene, except in waltz beat. MUST HAVE THE SOUNDTRACK RIGHT NOW.

My overall feeling about this show is that it's often pretty and sometimes arresting, but not often sensical.

Which can be used to describe another sci-fi show discussed in here from time to time.

Perhaps more than one.

My question is what gave Adama the right to arrest Roslin?

I didn't see it as a right so much as, "The people with the guns will do what I say, and the President just Pissed. Me. Off." Or, you know, almost all of them. There's that pesky son...

I love that by the end of the series I was all, "Wha-?" with just about everyone's actions. Flailing. People are flailing. Love.

And the music was gorgeous.

That was two close-range shots to... the abdomen, I thought, which means that it may take him a while to bleed out, with a chance for survival if he goes to surgery fast. (You know, Boomer was, like a foot away; how difficult would it have been for her to fire him at the heart? I'm just sayin'.) I think EJO is in the contract so he'll probably come back, but wow... it'd be a gutsy move if they really kill him off.

So, now you have Roslin in the brig, which means batshit!crazy Baltar in thrall of Six and the next generation of creepily radiant Cylon/human hybrids gets to be the acting president. And with Adama out of commission (whether gravely injured or dead), Tigh, under the thumb of his Lady Macbeth, will get to be in charge of the military. Talk about everything going to shit.

I LOVED that fight between Six and Starbuck. That looked messy and inelegant and fucking *painful*.

I wanted Starbuck to use the arrow like a spear to gut Six. Assuming that Six has guts.

I watched the episode on tape delay and don't know if the West Coast has had it or not.

Poor Sharon. Fighting that Cylon nature (at least that's what I'm going to say happend with the aiming). And yes to the rest. It was the final ep that made me warm up to Starbuck a little. And Lee. I admit that I was manipulated in exactly the way they were likely shooting for (ugh. I said shooting for, didn't I?) with Lee and his attempt to thwart what was, essentially, a military coup.

And I'm sure Adama will survive, but they still got me with that final scene. Was not expecting it at all.

The Baltar/Six stuff was weird and kind of neat. And just plain pretty to watch and listen to with that music.

I think the decision was no whitefonting necessary after it's aired on the east coast.

Sumi, I think the bullshit consensus in B'cracy was no white-fonting once it's aired in the east coast.

Yeah, I like that theory that Boomer shot Adama in a less fatal place because she was fighting the Cylon condition. Loved the look in her eyes at the end. Poor G!Boomer. I hadn't really cared for her very much since the mini, but she really won me over in the last two episodes.

Lee's action in Colonial One was v. reminiscent of what he did in "Bastille Day". Interesting that Roslin maintained a hard line until Lee got involved, then folded. Why? She's a determined woman and a hella shrewd politician, religious fanaticism or not, so I don't buy that she did it out of tender concerns about messing up the father/son Adama relationship. Hmm.

How much did I love the two such vital missions were carried out by women without anybody making a big deal out of it? THIIIIIIS MUUUUCH. Also, the spooky miracle child in the crib (well, maybe she's not there yet as I think the whole temple scene was a vision of future to come) was a girl! For once! Neat.
