Unless it's the whole gold tint... When exactly did they drop that, I wonder?

I'm assuming it has to do with the fact that Teal'c is very serious and reserved.

Having seen Chris Judge interviewed, I have no doubt that off-camera hi-larity infused the set.

Trying to look up when the gold tint went away, I found this via Google:
