Boxed Set, Vol. II: "It's a Cookbook...A Cookbook!!"

A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

My secret Highlander pairing is Joe/Methos. I've read like two Joe/Methos stories, which refuse to magically multiply into hundreds of good stories for me to read.

Is there anyone we can bribe?

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Rolling Stone has an article on BSG and its relevance to today's current issues (SPOILER warning for the pic next to the article--apparently, it's from an upcoming ep).

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Yeah, I'd say that pic's spoilery.

a clueless president

Hmph. Roslin's not clueless.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Roslin's not clueless.

So very far from it.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Maybe they were thinking of her predecessor?

ETA: Like you, I don't find Roslyn clueless. If anything she was hesitant to take on the mantle of president, but once she did, she ran with it. She's not clueless, she was hesitant to confess she thought she was the prophesized president, and wary of the military.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

They were thinking of Baltar? I dunno....

Nope -- they're trying to compare her to Bush:

Similarly, President Laura Roslin (played by Mary McDonnell) is not simply a stand-in for Bush, but she was an unprepared chief executive -- forty-third in the line of succession -- who has lately turned to holy scriptures to guide her through a time of war. (Note, too, the number forty-three.) On one show she says, "The interesting thing about being president is you don't have to explain yourself to anybody," a direct lift of a Bush quote in Bob Woodward's Bush at War.
