I am so tempted to go home and pull out my tape of that scene.
Boxed Set, Vol. II: "It's a Cookbook...A Cookbook!!"
A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
Most of the Highlander fic recs I've seen are for Duncan/Methos first time. Is it because there's nothing to do with the relationship once established? No penguins, MPREGs, or "aliens made us not do it"?
I think it's more because fandom tends toward first-times, as a rule.
Ah. I hadn't noticed that as much in the Buffyverse, so was operating on an incomplete sample.
Hmm. It may also be more true in slash than in fandom in general. Anyone else want to weigh in?
there's a lot of first time fic in the SV fandom, but also quite a bit of "established relationship" fic. it's cause committed!Lex is such a woobie.
There's tons of long-term Angel/Spike slash. Being vampires and all, they've got time to kill, but you'd think the same would apply to Immortals.
Er. I could be talking out my ass, but I think it depends on the main pairing in a slash fandom. Like, in Due South, you've got Fraser and Kowalski, who are partners and buddies and canonically sled off into the sunset together, and there's a lot of established relationship fic out there. I think Duncan and Methos fall more on the Insurmountable Obstacle side of things, and thus there's a big emotional payoff in getting them together.
Um. If that makes any sense.
"Concurrently?! You never let us do that!"
Yeah, but we saw Duncan and Methos meet on the show. I bet that makes a difference.
