A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
It sounds as if the name
Battlestar Galactica
prevents many people from taking the show seriously, much like the name
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
did.
(But not exactly the same, because in BSG's case it's the result of the associatin with the cheesy '70s version of the show.)
Well, I'm sure the TV show suffered some from the cheesy 90s movie too.
I still like Theo's "Battlewagon Hysterica." Said with affection, of course.
Fanon or canon?
Do Highlander buzzes differ at all? Can one say "oh, right, that's Albert, I recognize his woofer a mile away"? Or does one buzz fit all? I ask because I think Kalas's buzz sounded more bass-y.
Fairly sure that's fanon. Given the number of times Methos shows up lounging in Duncan's apartment, and Duncan enters warily, sword in hand, to be greeted by a double entendre.
You didn't
tell
me there were entendres.
The sound effects vary from time to time and Immortal to Immortal, but I don't remember an Immortal identifying another without visual contact.
So, yeah, I'd say fanon.
New Immortals experience the buzz differently, though. It's painful and distressing, and usually played like someone coming down with a migraine and a case of schizophrenia at the same time.
Hey, I'm immortal! So's ita!
I can't say I'm thrilled by the notion of ita jumping out of a dark alley and lopping my head off the next time I have a migraine.
Well, when I'm suffering the migraine that might not seem so bad, actually...
If ita takes out all the Buffistas with migraines, she's going to have Quickenings for *weeks*. Not to mention major airline bills.
