Is that where Uranus comes in?
A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Having just ahemed SGA eps 13 and 14, have to totally agree with what y'all said a few posts back. The ease with which Elizabeth okayed the torture, having basically not bothered to do much digging beyond 'We never liked you anyway, stroppy obnoxious science dude', was quite shocking to me. And really not addressed as being the Very Big Deal that it should be. Which just confirms me in my sense that Stargate, in both its incarnations, holds a mirror up to America's foreign policy in the same way that Star Trek used to, back in the day. (This is a somewhat facile remark, given that we're talking pretty damned shallow & silly pop culture, but I do think genre shows, dealing with big epic themes as they usually are, rather function like society's dreams. And I just know I'm going to get shot down for making sweeping pretentious generalizations, and perhaps deservedly so, but what the hell.)
So. Yeah. That. But ototh, I did adore Hewlett's performance in Grace under pressure. And I'd be intrigued to know what fandom made of the appearance of a pink-clad Sam, with whom he did not, in fact, engage in teh hot sex. I think that it worked very well, actually, but not for the first time I was struck by the fact that Rodney really isn't a misogynist, even though he's been described thus by the folks who make the show (or is it Hewlett?) several times. He's just a curmudgeon. Makeup and pink outfit notwithstanding, this was a very Sam-like Sam.Which is interesting. This show is often very interesting - but they don't seem to want to follow through on things very often. Sigh.
Also? I love Zelenka. He is my sekrit boyfriend. I wooed him with my knowledge of Czech beer, and my contacts in the Czech Brewery world. Bwahaha! All your cute wee Czech Science dudes are belong to me!
...mind you, I also heart Beckett. Lots. I think shall woo him with my knowledge of Cloutie dumplings and my skills with making haggis, neeps and tatties.
And then there's Ronon. Hmm. And by hmm I mean porn.
edited for shameful mis-spelling.
Hewlett.

Well, a lot of folks are going to be happy. Weir and Shepherd go for the smooch in episode 16 of Atlantis.
Fay ... I've never considered McKay to be a mysoginst. He's always just been a geek with no real ability to relate to females, so his hallucination of Sam and her behaviour, made perfect sense. I did love the wet bra, though...I can't deny that. :)

Be strong, my sister.

I just can't get past the gendered dumb blonde insult, though that was his first appearance and I don't think he's written that way anymore (I don't think a real misogynist would respect Elizabeth as much as he appears to, for instance).
evil jimi, the thing about the kiss, like all these things in Stargate, is that it isn't actually them. They so very rarely do things with the characters that they can't take back. I was also a bit irritated that it was an episode with lots of Torri Higginson, but it wasn't an Elizabeth episode. They just don't seem to know what to do with the character.
So I'm watching Smallville, mostly because there's a lower chance of maggots than on the thing we were watching, and I just watched Lionel get shot to my favorite aria. It feels like they sullied it.
Oh, but I'd forgotten how pretty Lex is. Pretty, pretty Lex. So pretty. Sigh.
I'm watching Smallville, too
James Marsters without the accent is deeply disturbing.
And, thanks to the "his story"/history thing, I have to hate the character.
