'The Message'

Boxed Set, Vol. II: "It's a Cookbook...A Cookbook!!"

A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Vonnie, I totally agree on the torture bit. It really pissed me off, actually, and made me like the show and the characters a little less. I loved Grace Under Pressure though. The Stargates usually aren't great at the whole characterisation thing, but David Hewlett really managed to pull it off.

And the season finally kicks into gear with "Unrealized Reality."

Heh. I knew it! I think that's the last episode I watched all the way through. I saw bits of the next two, but it felt like a chore. Reading about what happened after, I think I was wise to bail out when I did.

Jool grew on me, and I liked the idea of having someone replace Crichton as ship's newbie. From what I remember of Sikozu, she seemed superfluous. But so did many other things in S4.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

I've mentioned, probably once too often, that I saw him in Sondheim's "Company" as Bobby a few years ago at the Kennedy Center, and I'm bemused to find him becoming a genre icon.

I'm also bemused, but mainly because he used to be the only non-genre icon on my laptop's wallpaper (which was the picture of him, Alexis Denisof, and Tony Head in Rope). It was my wallpaper for about two years, before I switched it with the cover of Nightwing #93, so suddenly seeing his picture on every third LJ icon was like seeing an old flame or something.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

John Barrowman just looks like he's thinking of having sex. Maybe he's saving the world or plotting murder, but after that, he totally intends to have a good shag.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Oh, hello, my pretties.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Yes. Pretty, pretty men. Pretty men mostly with British accents. Pretty men who talk prettily.

Ok, shutting up now.

Heh. Well, it's canon gay in the play (and especially so in that production, if you read the reviews), so...

(Rope3.jpg was, natch, my wallpaper.)

I do believe in killing the messenger, you know why? Because it sends a message. ~ Damon Salvatore

Up with Sikozu! Down with Jool!

I liked Sikozu(for the most part) until the mini. though reading Vonnie's post i'm reminded by how much i didn't like her in the We're So Screwed episodes either.

Wow. Genre worlds collapsing...

huh. i had no idea ASH and AD had worked together before their Buffy days. that's neat.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I used to be terribly fond of Sikozu but her characterization in "We're So Screwed"

I liked seeing her with her native people. What specifically about her characterization (her magic powers notwithstanding) bugged you?

And now I'm afraid of the mini.
