A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Yeah, where was Oma when my woobie died, hmmm? Martouf was totally ascension material.

(Suddenly I'm feeling very "Marsha, Marsha, Marsha!" about Daniel WRT Martouf.)

Oh, I'm reading the TwoP recap of the Lois & Clark pilot while my computer burns CDs for a vendor. this was too, too funny:

Clark's eyes light up with intelligence. I'm so not used to this kind of Clark Kent.

My BSG S1 DVDs are here. I am very, very happy about that. Chock full of commentaries, yay.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

Supernatural:

Okay, so they managed to hold off nature's buggy wrath for several hours with an aerosal can flamethrower ?!? That was the lamest curse ever.

Also, the dead spiders were totally those cheap plastic spider rings with the ring parts cut off.

"I make mistakes, but I am on the side of Good," the Golux said, "by accident and happenchance.” – The 13 Clocks, James Thurber

I recently celebrated my birthday, and my mom gave me the first two seasons of Farscape on DVD. (Huzzah, Mom! I haven't seen Farscape (other than The Peacekeeper Wars) since the Sci Fi channel stopped showing it, so this made me really happy). These are the Starburst editions, because I am one of those people who actually listens to every commentary and watches all the special features.

I've been gorging myself, and I've been really disappointed in the DVDs themselves. The company that produces them must have a truly suck-ass quality control department. So far I've worked my way through three "volumes," or sets, and have run into problems with all three. (For those of you who don't know, each "volume" is a double-sided set that contains either 7 or 8 episodes, so three volumes make up one entire season.) In volume 1, the entire side of one disc is empty. I've tried it on two DVD players, and nothing is there. In volumes 2 and 3, there are episodes that just freeze, and nothing I do will make the episode progress beyond that point. (To be fair, one of the episodes is "Jeremiah Crichton," which is probably the worst episode in the entire series, but still....)

I just wanted to know if I was visited by some sort of evil birthday fairy, and can I expect this from the remaining three volumes? (They came from Deep Discount DVD, and I plan to send them back and exchange them. It's just that at this rate my hopes for receiving a DVD that is glitch-free is miniscule.)

If I only had a brain...

Morgana, I've had bad problems with the "Starburst" DVDs: I've had to return them for replacements once per set. Go ahead and request replacements from Deep Discount DVD>

Art Crawl!!!

Yeah, the Starburst editions have some problems -- the doublesidedness kind of makes them difficult. On the other hand they are SOOO much more affordable than the other ones.
