Tonight I watched the most incredibly boring episode of Stargate. I couldn't believe it. It was just Ben Browder talking and talking about airplanes and his military experiences, and occasionally someone would interrupt him to provide clumsy transitions. I kept thinking, "I can't believe so many Buffistas watch this. Is it always this bad?"

Then I jumped out of an airplane, and then I rode on a sub, and there was something about a stolen Russian ship. And then someone downstairs made some noise that woke me up, and I realized that I'd fallen asleep on the couch with the History Channel on.

I think that I superimposed Ben Browder on the actual narrator of the show because before falling asleep I'd caught the end of a show Scott Bakula was hosting. But having him tell me about airplanes wasn't as nice as the dream where he was promoting Farscape at my mom's house. Riding the sub was fun, though.

Strega, Ben Browder did do some voiceovers for some History Channel show at one point -- something about famous battle sites. So it could well have been him.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Strega, that's hilarious.

I'm also glad I'm not the only one who has dreams that they're watching a really boring episode of TV.

I was charmed (albeit somewhat perplexed) by the fannish sensibility of many of the music choices -- it's like the director was trying to vid Canada. --loligo on the Olympic Opening Ceremonies

Then I jumped out of an airplane, and then I rode on a sub, and there was something about a stolen Russian ship.

The sad thing is at this point I was thinking "Watergate? Was she watching Watergate? But Ben Browder isn't in that one..."

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Latest in the long line of SciFi channel's quality original Saturday night programming:

Cerberus

It is a creature of myth and legend. A guardian of treasures and secrets. The gatekeeper of hell itself.

Now hell's three-headed hound is loose upon the earth, and one woman is mankind's only hope of salvation.

Yay! Three-headed hell-doggie goodness!

I'm hanging out with friends that night, else I'd propose another SciFi Saturday night drunken watch-n-post....

Oh wow, Cerberus is this weekend? Thank you for the reminder, because the ads are, as you'd expect, fantastic.

I don't think Browder was really involved in whatever I was sleeping through -- although the TV listings don't match up to anything I remember seeing, even when I woke up, so it's hard to say. To me the funniest part was that even while I was dreaming I was thinking, "But... I know people watch this, and my impression was that it might not be brilliant but it was at least fun, so how can it be this boring?" After I woke up it took me a few minutes to remember what exactly I'd been dreaming, and then I was quite relieved.

I didn't even notice: Sebastian Spence is in Cerberus! With...Greg Evigan?

Golly.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Dana, did you say DVDs of The Sentinel were coming out? Because I want them, and I can find no mention of them. Did I misunderstand you?
