I'm just, uh, just feeling kinda... truthsome right now. And, uh... life's just too damn short for ifs and maybes.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I feel obliged to point this out because there is a faction that seems to think he was once a pacifist.

He wasn't a pacifist, but he was an idea man more than any of the rest. Gritty reality still isn't his strong suit, but the fuzzy edges have worn off.

Oh, sure. He was more of the talking guy than the shooting guy. Still is, unless we're talking about, say, Anubis or any of his friends and relations. Goa'ulds in general, say.

Are there any eps in Stargate Atlantis that are particularly slashy for Sheppard/Mckay?

"Hide and Seek" in the first season was probably the start of the subtext, although I think it's strongest in "Sanctuary" even if it's roundabout and one-sided there. I've yet to hear a convincing argument for why McKay took such a strong interest in Sheppard's flirtation with Chaya and correspondingly strong dislike for her that doesn't involve jealousy.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I feel obliged to point this out because there is a faction that seems to think he was once a pacifist.

I sort of wonder if it's spillover from Sentinel fandom, with Pacifist!Blair. Even though Blair once actually knocked a vending machine over on someone.

Hide and Seek, The Defiant One, The Siege (1-3), Trinity. Off the top of my head. And I've forgotten the name of the one with the collars, but that's totally worth a viewing on its own...merits.

Edit: And of course, Sanctuary. Hee.

I was charmed (albeit somewhat perplexed) by the fannish sensibility of many of the music choices -- it's like the director was trying to vid Canada. --loligo on the Olympic Opening Ceremonies

It doesn't have to be specifically sexual jealousy, though. I mean, don't get me wrong, it's plenty slashy.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

What, he's gonna play Prime-Not-Prime with her?

Sorry. I do accept that you can read that relationship elsewise. It just makes me laugh to try to.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Why oh why is TS not available on DVD?

Speaking of DVD, is SGA S1 out? I figure I'm doomed, doomed to be Years Behind in Fandoms what with the no cable thing, but I might as well get familiar with characters that the good writers are writing.

I came around somewhat on Sikozu by the end, but I always had more sympathy for Jool, who wasn't quite so self-aware about how arrogant she was. Jool was just clueless, you know?

Exactly!

Just the Season 1 premiere "Rising," I think.
