Boxed Set, Vol. II: "It's a Cookbook...A Cookbook!!"
A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Module, maybe?
It's a gigantic Lite Brite that serves as a power source. Developed by the Ancients, and necessary to run some of their technology; it's also required to Gate between galaxies.
I know Rodney gave some sort of an explanation of how it worked in Rising, but frankly I wasn't listening. Something about subspace.

What's the context?
eta: Nebbermind....
Module, yes.
MMkay. Why couldn't Daniel just use a ZPM to catch up with Atlantis, instead of being stranded on Earth when the Pegasus left?
Yeah it's a device created by highly advanced aliens thousands of years ago that creates its own little pocket universe and then pulls vacuum self-energy out of it in mass quantities.

They don't have spares.
It seems to me that ZPMs are actually just DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD batteries.
Kind of an anticlimax, you know? Are they antimatter batteries, at least? Any danger of annihilation?
Nope, they make energy out of nuthin' at all as required until they wear out. No antimatter involved. (Though the less powerful naquadah generators are the next best thing. Quite explodey if overloaded.)
