Boxed Set, Vol. II: "It's a Cookbook...A Cookbook!!"
A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
If I were making the tape, it'd be something like "There's a huge threat out there, enslaving humans all over the galaxy. We have the knowledge of how to fight them -- you can't get that without the Stargate, if you don't already have it."
It would be interesting to consider an AU where they'd buried the first gate, or destroyed it, and what'd have to be done to get the Antarctic one put into use.
But as you say -- Hammond's given no indication of what he wants to do.
I love a good time plot so I'm good with SG1 at the moment. The Sam timidity was odd, but this may change in the next segment. I forgot to tape so I'll have to wait to rewatch. I have to pay closer attention that I was able to last night. My mind just enjoyed the twistiness of time travel consequences. Whee!
It was a delight to enjoy the waterlogged show for a change.
BSG didn't hold my attention at all. It is good to hear nice buzz about the season finale, but I just didn't feel the tension that they were aiming for with the VP threat.
The Cylon Occupied Caprica was more interesting than usual and looked more so again next time. It may have been my imagination, but did they not have the notation on the screen that we were in COC.
I love Rodney, but he'd never shut up enough for a proper shag.
Aw, come on. Just consider that a challenge.
It may have been my imagination, but did they not have the notation on the screen that we were in COC.
No, they didn't -- just Helo's personal "54th day on Caprica" (or however many it was) lower-third. I suppose they figure anyone watching at this point either already knows, or will figure it out.
Ah good. The Cylon Occupied Caprica notation made my eyes roll.
Saw the newst BSG. Mostly the ep increased my Starbuck love, particularly the exasperated tipping of the bottle toward Lee with her cane as she ran by to tackle the guy with the gun. I thought the reporter that Balter hooked up with looked like she had no upper teeth.
I also thought the COC storyline got real interesting. Nice and angsty.
Hey, Suela, on the off chance that you see this before checking your e-mail do not read the comment in your LJ from ixchup, as it spoils the second half of Moebius in a bad way.
I'm with you Sean on the big Starbuck love. So many of her scenes could have come off OTT, but she pulls it off so well. In particular, the episode where she gets stranded on the planet and pilots the icky ship, I would have thought it impossible to make me buy that but she did such a good job. Starbuck rocks hard.
eta: a little tipsy and exhausted so without the ability to properly reference episodes. The point being that she is so often written in a way that more than challenges believability, and I not only cheer her, but believe that she makes it happen.
Am I the only one kind of wanting them to just pick up with the new adventures of DivergentTimeline!Sam and Daniel, and not go back to restore the old continuity? Just think, we might never have to watch another Replicator or Oma episode!
But divergent Sam and Daniel lack charisma. Don't want that, nor to watch them learn charisma.
I hate the idea of AU characters feeling "there must be a better way" and that better way being the standard universe -- when it's played as a nod to the supremacy of standard -- if it's hand in hand with
everyone
wondering if they could be bigger, stronger, faster it doesn't bother me.
