Boxed Set, Vol. II: "It's a Cookbook...A Cookbook!!"

A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

If I only had a brain...

He's way ahead of me.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

If I only had a brain...

My most hopeful solution is that it's some kind of gouaul'd (sp?) left over from Vala's time as a host.

I was charmed (albeit somewhat perplexed) by the fannish sensibility of many of the music choices -- it's like the director was trying to vid Canada. --loligo on the Olympic Opening Ceremonies

HA!

See, this shows how things that don't look like plot spoilers can be: I knew Vala was coming back then, Tripoli on LJ said it was something SG-1 had made it 9 year without doing, Suela said she thought I'd be less bothered than she was, and it drove Betsy crazy. And I know pregnancy is one of Suela and Betsy's shared hot buttons, so...

Ta-da, correct guess.

Actually, I'm relieved. I like Vala a lot, but I'm not so attached to her that it will utterly break my heart if they do the And Now She's All Maternal! crap, like it did with Aeryn. (I'll be annoyed on general principles, and I mourn for Fun Vala, but oh well.) And at least it wasn't Sam, which was my first, terrified thought.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

Oh Dear God. Yes, that would be worse. Very Muchly Worse, like, a lot.

You have excellent deductive skills, Katie. I didn't know if Suela was spoiled yet or not. It's a gold-plated Kewpie with WiFi.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Some shows I might think "Okay, you can do this differently, and well."

But, hell, I wouldn't trust Whedon or Minear around the idea, I certainly have no hopes for something revolutionary from the SG team. Ah, well. I'm not there for the groundbreaking narrative.

Well, that's the advantage of SG-1: When it's utterly predictable, that's... utterly predictable. It's not like I'll be disappointed in them.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Thank god it's not happening on Atlantis.
