I watched Home Part 1 last night, and I think I saw Lee have his Xander moment, when he kissed Kara. He was going "Oh, my one true love, you are safe" and she was reacting "Huh? I'm busy!"
I think he has emotionally committed to her just after she has emotionally committed to somebody else. Whether he likes it or not, he's stuck as the sibling now.
Thoughts?
tiggy, thank you so much! Sadly, I went to bed right after posting htat and by the time I got to your email, someone on my flist had already YSI'd it for me.
I can't wait to see the very end, though I expect to be a little weepy.
Betsy -- you are so right!
Poor Lee.
Or maybe not, as he's one of my least-favorite characters.
I like Lee's forehead. He has Good Eyebrow Values.
Arms. It's the arms, all the way.
Betsy -- and then immediately thereafter he also found out that she was working with the Cylon That Shot His Father.
BSG really does have some of the highest Angst values of any show around today....
And yet, when the Pres wanted to toss Caprica!Boomer out the airlock, and Helo is shouting to Kara to tell them that Boomer saved their lives - Kara just looks at her feet. I loved that little moment.
He was going "Oh, my one true love, you are safe" and she was reacting "Huh? I'm busy!"
Oh, I don't think he even knew what he was doing until he did it. He looks surprised at himself afterwards and immediately retreats into their usual banter. It's just like the "You're my friend, I love you..." later. He means it, but... I don't think he knows how much he means it. Like I said in the recap, they're both emotionally retarded. Which I find consistently hilarious for some reason.
Me, too. (On the hilarious.)
But I do think that if Kara had given him a *millimeter* of encouragement, they would have leapt into one another's arms, followed shortly by one another's pants.
