Cordelia: I get it now. You're all spies. Probably all Russian. And you've brainwashed me, and want me to believe we're friends so I'll spill the beans about some nano-technology thingy that you want. Gunn: So I look Russian to you? Cordelia: Black Russian. Angel: That's a drink.

I'm so so so disappointed that I couldn't go to Vividcon this year.

BTW, I have DVDs for you.

If I only had a brain...

I realize that covers of Leonard Cohen songs are generally better-sung, but I think Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" is the best. So there.

Me too, Betsy. Course, I like the lyrics on, uh, whatever album of his that is I have better than the ones in the covers I've heard.

I will say my favorite vid of all time is the Firefly Out of Gas one to Hallelujah, but on the other hand it was really the first time I'd really paid attention to the song.

I was charmed (albeit somewhat perplexed) by the fannish sensibility of many of the music choices -- it's like the director was trying to vid Canada. --loligo on the Olympic Opening Ceremonies

Oh, I like Cohen's Hallelujah too--not on Oh So Pretty grounds, but because, understandably, he gets it. Wainwright's just feels pretty to me. Buckley's is, if anything, prettier, but has a desolation about it that works very well.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

John Cale's version is my fave.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

I pretty much always think the Leonard Cohen version of his songs is the best version, with the exception of Judy Collins' Suzanne.

Thrive to spite them

Shrift I saw that in your lj, I just forgot to comment.

Thank you so much!

I have downloaded a couple vids as soon as they came up on lj. Including the BSG vid "Proud", which killed me and now I'm going to have to start watching the show.

Also, I need to figure out how to see Jerimiah, because the vids make it look interesting.

I just can't handle Leonard Cohen's voice, I feel bad about saying that because I felt the same way about Jeff Buckley's at first. I bought a cd based on my enjoyment of Evil Angel (after seeing Lum's Darla vid) and Hallelujah, but then at first couldn't listen to the whole thing in one sitting. But now I like his voice. Maybe that will happen with Cohen

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.
