I forget the song used for the other
I remember the vid was called "Hello," so I'm guessing the song was as well.
'Not Fade Away'
A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

OH, Here's Ron Moore's discussion of Boxey on his blog. Moore's blog, not Boxey's.
"WHERE the fraq is Boxey?
I can only guess the new baby cylon/human hybrid girl is Boxey’s future wife only if Boxey is still around."
Boxey died a hard nasty death on the page and in the editing room, and was last seen haunting the deleted scenes area of this very website. Boxey's character was included in several episodes last season, but ended up on the cutting room floor time and again, not for lack of ability on the actor, but simply because as the show evolved and focused itself over the course of the year, his character became ancillary to the storylines. But who knows, he might yet lurch out of the shadows once Sharon's daughter reaches the age of Colonial consent.
Note: Moore's blog is spoilery for some of the next few episodes....
eta: I thought Moore said something about Boxey's absense in the commentaries, but I must have been thinking about this blog entry.
When I was a kid, we didn't have no fancy writer/producer's blogs and podcast commentaries. Nor online recaps. It's kinda' weird and fun to read Strega's recaps (at TwoP) when she discusses not only the episode but Moore's commentaries of the episode....
one McKay/Sheppard set to "Hallelujah",
Everybody in the world needs to stop using that song for at least fifteen years.
The writer/creator on the commentary track for Scrubs S1 ("My Old Lady") claims to have started that trend, and apologizes. I don't know if he's right about being the trendsetter, but I'll accept the apology anyway.
Does anyone have the link to the SGA vid to Running up that Hill? It was linked either here in Boxed Sets or Fanfiction, but I haven't been able to find it. I deleted it after watching it and I want to take a look at it again.

Seconded.
Absolutely nothing beats watching SG-1, SGA, and BSG crammed into a hotel room with 27 other folks, mostly slashers, lots of alcohol, orange food, and chocolate.
Dude, seriously. Dana, Destina and I were suffering from the Giggle Amplification Effect while watching SGA.

"Hello," by Poe. It was a remix I hadn't heard before. Merry was the vidder, IIRC.

i'd like to add that rule to Evanescence's My Immortal and Bring Me To Life, as well.

This was an issue that came up multiple times during discussion of that vid. I tend to agree that it's been overused, which doesn't mean that the vid itself didn't work; but outside influences do affect how it's received. I wasn't sold on the vid entirely, partly because of the song and partly because it was John/Rodney, which wearies me (except when the writers give it to us on a frelling platter, as this ep did).
Hallelujah, Closer, and anything by Evanescence or Sarah McLaughlin are definitely off the table. I'm considering moving Iron and Wine off the table, too, because their sound is so distinctive.
Oh, and only Melina and her collaborators are allowed to use Tracy Grammar and Dave Carter. Like, ever.

This point was discussed, for what it's worth. And alas, the vidders used the Rufus Wainwright version, too, which is not nearly hurty enough.

Try sdraevn's LJ--that's her vid. I'm not sure if she has storage space or if she just does yousendit links, though, so it may not be available.
